Painter 

I was born in Jdayria neighborhood, Samara Camp. And I still live there. I grew up in this camp and studied in the school to my camp up until secondary level. I then went to continue my studies in the university in Algeria. I graduated in 2019 with a degree in Economy. My interest in art started a bit late for me. Then I realized that I’ve always been a creative person. I just never gave it my full attention. When I graduated, Corona hit the camps. My little sister started to bring me her drawings and asked me that we start to draw together. I started to do it, and I soon realized that I do have a special gift. I started to practice more often, whenever I can. I worked on developing my skills by experimenting with different styles and techniques. Then I met Alarbi, an artist who helped me and introduced me to other artists in ARTifariti Art Festival. I joined the festival and my artwork won the first prize. I began to expand my art. I wanted my art to reflect our reality. I started to look at the buildings, the people, the situation, everything. Everything around me became a material for my art. This artwork depicts a dilapidated building with cracks in the wall, but the window is still intact. The cracks remind me of our people’s wounds, and the separation of our people. Despite the cracks in our life, there is still a window of hope.
