Sam Berkson (Short bio)
Poet / Writer / Educator
Sam Berkson was born in the London Borough of Bromley in 1982. He grew up in Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire. He nokw lives in Hackney, London .and is the host of live poetry events for Hammer & Tongue and the Re:Versed show on NTS radio. Sam often performing under the stage name, Angry Sam, he was the UK representative at the European Lyd plus Litteratur Festival of literature and music in Aarhus, Denmark. He was also visiting poet at the MacKewen University in Edmonton, Canada; and has performed in Hungary, Greece and The Foam Gallery, Amsterdam. He has coordinated poetry performances and poetry slams at Bestival, Secret Garden Party and We Out Here festivals; the Genesis Cinema slam in East London; the Extra Pages events at Pages Bookshop in Hackney; Extra Rinse events at Machine No 3, E5; Wordamouth events with Poetcurious at Favela Chic and Bedroom Bar in Shoreditch; Rebel Fridays at Black Cat Cafe, Clapton; and more.
