Najla Mohamed Lamin (Short bio)
Library director / Writer / Environmental Activist
Saharawi African woman. A mother of two children. I was born and raised in the Saharawi refugee camps. I have been an activist for the right of my people since as far as I can remember Human right and also an activist for climate issues. In 2023 I was named in the BBC 100 list most influential women in the world.
Founder and current director of Almasar Center which is based in the Smara camp which works to promote alternative education for children and health education for women. Also works to educate about climate change and how to combat its impact on the lives of the people in the camps.
