Food Dome
2025 ǀ 11:17 MIN ǀ DOCUMENTARY
The Food Dome is a multidimensional project conceived and developed by Saharawi Agricultural engineer Taleb Brahim at Algaada Center for Small Scale Agricultural Research which is an experimental site developing garden practices and projects in the Saharawi refugee camps. The Food Dome aims to bring together farming, social life and climate change solutions. This garden model develops ways to optimize water usage while maintaining the biodiversity in the food dome. The Food Dome is a space for growing food, but also a social place where family members could come to interact with the plants and escape the hot desert environment.
The Food Dome film follows the story of building and development of the dome. It’s a work in progress and Motif Art Studio hopes to follow this story as it develops in the hope that they will make a longer version of the film as the project develops in the future.
