Asria Mohamed Taleb (Short Bio)
Artist / Journalist / Curator / Stand Up Comedian
Asria Mohamed is an artist, curator, and multidisciplinary creative whose work explores themes of identity, resistance, and displacement. Born and raised in the Sahrawi refugee camps, she uses art as a tool for cultural preservation and political expression. She is the curator of Jaimetna, a collaborative art project that amplifies Sahrawi voices and narratives. Asria is also a human rights defender and journalist who has spent the last decade advocating for the Sahrawi cause in Norway. She has held over 1,000 public outreach events and led delegations of activists, politicians, and journalists to the refugee camps in Tindouf. Asria is the host and producer of Sandfast, the first podcast on the Western Sahara issue available in both Norwegian and English. In addition to her advocacy and artistic work, she has been performing as a stand-up comedian for the past three years.
