Aicha Abnoaumar (Short bio)
Photographer
Aicha is a young Saharawi award-winning photographer. She was born in the Saharawi refugee camps. Her background is in Financial Management, but in 2019 she started to explore photography out of curiosity. By 2021 she started to dedicate more time to her passion, she honed her practice through the everyday life around her. She loves to explore the desert landscape and scenery. She also experiments with architectural photography by exploring the Saharawi tent’s structure, designs and techniques. She loves to capture details of objects and materials rooted in the Saharawi culture and identity. She often develops her work through the documentation of every life and the people around her. Her photographs tell about strong generational links to her family, neighbors and the surrounding community.
